Welcome to the web page of the Environmental Concern Collective. We are an organization that is focused on understanding the impacts to communities and individuals from climate change. Part of this endeavor is the mapping and recording of the social and physical structure of communities looking at all aspects of their history and development and the interaction with the environment. The data collected will be used to help the community deal with the potential threats arising from the changing climate.
We are an international organization with the one base in Colorado Springs and a second in Nairobi Kenya. Our mission is to develop understanding of the impact to communities and individuals arising from the changing climate and
Inside this this web page you will find information about us the Environmental Concern Collective the principals within the group and information on the issues the world faces arising from the changing climate. The Concern is very interested in starting dialogues with interested individuals and groups concerned about the climate. There is a place to request information and links to other agencies and groups and we are always looking to expand our team of people dedicated to doing research on the various issues affecting communities.
The individuals listed as members in the following section have come together to form this Collective in the mutual concern about finding ways to deal with the potential threats coming from the changing climate. We have been putting together procedures for collecting the data in the field and coupling those efforts with any existing research. Our efforts are community centered but with the caveat that the issue of climate change is global and the obvious recognition that communities exist as a part of the world. The Climate concern collective considers that there are two major reasons and focus on the data collection. The first one is to preserve aspects of human history before those parts disappear or become seriously altered from the changing climate. The second is to collect data on the social structure of the community how it responds and developed in the environment it occupies. The data should include the physical environment as well. Our field data would be combined with the existing research to help try and make determination how the community functions within its existing situation. The next step would be after looking at the potential threats from the changing climate to help determine what it wold take for the community to continue within its situation or would it be necessary to relocate the community. In any case our purpose would be to help the community deal with the coming changes and help to find ways to restructure the economic system and housing etc. Part of the solutions would be trying to raise the funding necessary to make the relocation or resilience possible. It will also be necessary to monitor how the community deals with the changes. This will be important for several reasons one is to make sure the community is able to make the needed transformation and the other is to help develop protocols for other groups and agencies to help other communities dealing with the same situations.
The next thing would contact groups seeking information on what we do and how we might have common interests and from communities seeking help to deal with climate change
